How quickly will a crime appear on a Employment Background Check?
Posted by Tim under background check

About 3 weeks ago I applied for job and did not have any convictions or crimes committed. Well on Monday the 10th I plead no contest in a felony theft because I didn’t want to risk losing in a jury trail and go to prison. I had a interview today, December 11th, 1 day after my plea. I want to know,
Will that conviction will appear on a background check within the next few days?

It depends on if they have already run the background check. You can pretty much assume that if they run it after the interview, they’ll see it.
Or, they may not actually run one depending on the sensitivity of your job.

if you entered a plea agreement it will depend on how fast they entered it.

If I were you, I’d tell my employer anyway.
Your future boss probably reads the police blotter, you know.
