I’m not a serial killer or anything lol, I was just wondering what they do when doing the background check and screening of potential employees.
Yeah erik I was talking about the more thorough background check. I guess they are looking for character flaws?

    They check your background.

They check your background for previous arrests and convictions. They also will probably check to see if you’ve changed your name, and will more then likely take a look at your driving record.

They look at both felonies and misdemeanors, although most misdemeanors aren’t going to count against you if they do find any.

Depends on the agency. If you decide to go to Federal Law enforcement, you will have an investigator assigned to investigate you. They will go door to door. talk to your friends, bosses, acquaintances, neighbors, and so on. Your records will be checked.

There are many different things a background check can pick up. Mostly, they are looking for felony and misdemeanors but they also can search your Motor Vehicle Report, credit history, social security trace, sexual offender check, employment and education verification, reference checks, professional license verification and other services.
